Real Betis have successfully renegotiated the terms of Manchester United's sell-on clause for Antony when securing an initial £19million permanent transfer for the Brazilian winger. Originally, United were poised to receive a straight 50 per cent cut of any future fee, if Betis decided to sell Antony in the future.
However, now the Spanish club only need to give United a 50 per cent cut of any profit - more commonly known as capital gains - they make on the player going forward. The deal for Antony could reach up to £22.5million if various add-ons are achieved.
Moreover, they're only shelling out around £3.9m per year over the course of Antony's five-year contract in Andalusia.
Nevertheless, that sum will rise by approximately £435,000 each year Betis secure a spot in the Champions League or alternatively, they clinch a European title.
