
A binge-worthy new series that was recently added onto Netflix has been praised by viewers, who all claim it's'the best' series they've watched recently.
With the cooler weather on the horizon, there's nothing better than cosying up on the sofa with some snacks and drinks with some incredible nail-biting television to watch. While it can often feel overwhelming to scroll through the different streaming services to find the next thing to watch, one woman is now urging people to check out the latest thriller series that was recently added onto Netflix.
TV and film fanatic Elisha is know for posting her reviews and recommendations of the latest shows and movies to watch. In a recent video, she went on to praise a British thriller series that is available to stream on Netflix.
"If you loved Adolecence, you are going to love this show 'The Gathering'," she said at the start of the TikTok video. "It's a brand new six-part drama series and it's out now on Netflix."
The series originally aired on Channel 4 in May 2024, but was recently added on to Netflix, which has caused a wave of new viewers to fall in love with the mystery thriller series.
Elisha went on to share the plot of the series, which is set in Liverpool. It follows the character Kelly, a teen who is training to be an elite gymnast. However, she is violently attacked at a beach party.
The show then goes on to share the leading up events to the party and the attack, as well as the surrounding events. It also goes on to explore the different characters, all with different backgrounds, who all could have been the one who committed the crime.
"It's giving insult culture, it covers SA [sexual assault], it talks about immigration issues, like difficulties that asylum seekers that come here illegally, what they face. It literally covers everything that you can think of," Elisha said. "Everything is going on in this show, but it's brilliant."
She went on to reveal that the show was made by the same producers who worked on hit series Line of Duty.
"Amazing casting, great actors," she said, revealing that actor Warren Brown, who is known for his roles in Hollyoaks, Luther, and Shameless.
"Brilliant, brilliant show. I binged this and it was amazing," she said. "It was of a similar tone of Adolescence, but there was just a lot more going on."
People soon took to the comment section of the video, with many viewers agreeing with Elisha that the show was amazing.
"Just watched.. omg!! Best thing I've binged in awhile," one person wrote.
"Just finished, absolute gold," a second viewer said, while someone else wrote: "Hated Adolescence but this was good."
A fourth person said: "Love this show, it's really not spoken about enough!"
Someone else praised: "I've just watched it. loved it, one of best things ive watched for a long time!"
