Britons could see scorching temperatures arriving in days as with the mecury rises as high as 31C, weather maps suggest. Forecast data collected by WXCHARTS.COM shows swathes of England blanketed in deep red as balmy temperatures return following the recent stormy conditions wrought by Storm Floris.
Maps show the temperature dial cranking up as high as 30C across parts of multiple English regions by 3pm UTC (4pm BST) on Monday, August 11.
These include:
- West Midlands
- East of England
- Greater London
- The Southeast
- The Southwest
By 6pm UST (7pm BST) parts of the East Midlands could also be up to 30C.

Towns and cities set for max temps of at least 30C that day could include London, Worcester, Oxford, Milton Keynes and others, the maps suggest.
South of Worcester, around Cheltenham, it could be as high as 31C.
Much of England from around Middlesbrough southwards is expected to see temperatures in the mid to high 20s, and temperatures in Wales look set to range between the high teens in coastal areas, up into the mid and upper 20s towards the border.
However, temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler in areas north of Manchester and up into Scotland, where top temperatures look to rise up to 22 in some parts, including areas inland from Aberdeen.
But elsewhere temps look set to range from around 13C to high teens, with 20C in some pockets of the nation.
In Northern Ireland, top temperatures look to be hovering in the early 20s and around 16 or 17C in coastal areas at 4pm and 7pm.
The Met Office's current three to five day forecast (covering Monday, August 11 to Wednesday the 13th) suggests conditions will be changeable in the north, "with occasional spells of rain or showers and often quite windy".
"Mostly dry in the south, with sunny spells. Temperatures increasing, turning hot in the south."

Meanwhile, this evening and tonight is expected to bring a "band or locally heavy rain drifting south across Scotland with strong winds".
"Elsewhere, it will be mostly dry with clear spells and lighter winds, some patchy fog is possible."
On Saturday the national weather service anticipates it remaining "rather windy across Scotland with showers".
"A little rain at first across northern England. Otherwise, dry with plenty of warm sunny spells and generally light winds," it adds.
