Danish homeware retailer Søstrene Grene has opened its latest UK store in Crawley's County Mall, attracting hundreds of eager shoppers to the grand opening on Friday, October 24. The new store occupies a unit that had been vacant for five years, previously home to Monsoon.
The opening event featured live classical music from Niche London Strings and performances by two ballerinas, creating a festive atmosphere for attendees. Guests were welcomed with complimentary cupcakes and drinks, enhancing the celebratory mood. The first 100 customers received a voucher for a free rug, adding to the excitement.
Søstrene Grene is renowned for its Scandinavian-inspired homeware, offering a range of products from furniture and kitchen essentials to stationery and seasonal items.
The brand emphasises a "hygge" lifestyle, promoting comfort, simplicity, and well-being. The Crawley store is the 61st in the UK and adds to the brand's growing presence in Sussex, joining existing locations in Horsham and Brighton.
The store's layout features a maze-like design, encouraging customers to explore and discover products at their own pace. Soft lighting and classical music contribute to a calming shopping experience.
Store manager Alyssa described the store as a space promoting "peace and serenity," reflecting the brand's commitment to creating a tranquil environment for shoppers.
Local officials expressed enthusiasm about the new addition to Crawley's retail scene. Council Leader Michael Jones noted that the opening signifies confidence in the town's retail environment.
