Kate Garraway has revealed she was left comforting a tearful Alan Carr during the emotional finale of The Traitors: Celebrity Edition. Speaking on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two, the presenter described how she watched the tense final episode alongside the comedian - and admitted even she couldn't hold back the tears. "It was so emotional. It was such a rollercoaster," Kate said. "How brilliantly was it made. First of all, I was screaming 'no Nick!' and 'go on Joe!' and then it was so lovely for Alan at the end.
"We were all crying. I watched it last night with Alan, and he was crying all over again." She added that seeing Alan's friends react to his win made the moment even more special: "It was so funny seeing all his friends who didn't know the result just being so thrilled for him. What an amazing time."
Alan Carr might have been crowned the ultimate Traitor, but he looked more weary than wicked the morning after his big win.
The comedian was spotted for the first time since the Celebrity Traitors finale, which pulled in a staggering 11.1 million viewers and peaked at 12 million - making it the biggest overnight TV audience since Gavin and Stacey's Christmas special.
Alan triumphed over England rugby ace Joe Marler and fellow Traitor Cat Burns in the tense showdown at Ardross Castle, taking home £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK.
"I was awful, I had no poker face but here I am," he laughed. "Maybe I do exaggerate a showbiz story now and again. But to just lie to people's faces, it was tough", he said on the show.
Explaining his tearful reaction, he added: "I think all the deceit, the lying, the murdering of Paloma and Celia had all taken its toll. I think it dawned on me that I had won such a huge amount for my charity."
The morning after his emotional win, Alan was pictured in London wearing a multicoloured cap, checked Timberland jacket and jeans - looking a little worse for wear after what he called a "boozy" watch party with close friends including Kate Garraway and Angellica Bell.
Party guests cheered as he rewatched Claudia Winkleman comforting him during the finale, and Alan proudly showed off a giant novelty cake featuring his face in a Traitor's cloak and horns.
His shock victory came after Nick Mohammed and historian David Olusoga turned on Joe Marler in a brutal twist that left viewers stunned.
Despite correctly identifying Alan and Cat as the remaining Traitors, Joe couldn't convince his teammates - and was banished moments before the win.
Cat was later seen leaving the BBC Breakfast studios in Manchester, while Alan's co-stars Jonathan Ross and Kate were back at work, still buzzing from the dramatic finale.
