MasterChef star John Torode has admitted "things have changed" between him and wife Lisa Faulkner after six years of marriage. As the pair launch a new series of their ITV show John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen, fans are invited once again into their dynamic and cooking set-up - but things are not the same as they once were.
Opening up about their relationship to The Herald Magazine, John, 59, and Lisa, 53, were asked how their dynamic has "evolved over the years". John confessed: "Lisa and I learn from each other all the time. As we have been cooking and working together for many years, I am sure things have changed, but as it's been a constant and consistent journey, it's not something that we feel is noticeable.
"What is evident is that we love cooking, food and travel as much as, if not more than, we did when we first met."
Lisa chimed in to say: "We're always learning from each other [...] We often do things differently, so I know I'm always learning something new from John, and I'm sure he would say the same."
She added that the pair both "love" to be in the kitchen together and see how the other cooks, confessing that budgeting is "important" to the couple to make sure they don't waste too much food.
The couple share a seven-year age gap, which Lisa has previously admitted "really shows" when John "sings along to Supertramp". She took a swipe at her other half in an interview with The Times, joking: "Give a Little Bit by Supertramp and Mr Blue Sky by ELO - I just can't do it, I'm sorry."
John's previous marriage to Jessica Thomas ended in 2014, five years before he went on to tie the knot with Lisa. The pair welcomed a son and a daughter together but officially separated in 2011. John also has two other children from a previous relationship.
