Emmerdale fans have expressed concern over April's (played by Amelia Flanagan) future after she reconnected with an old friend from her traumatic days of being homeless. During Tuesday's episode (July 29), the teenager was visiting her mum Donna's (Verity Rushworth) grave when she was approached by Dylan (Fred Kettle), an old friend she made while living rough earlier this year.
However, a telling clue at the end of the episode revealed he was one of the masked attackers in Monday's episode (July 28) sent by Joe Tate (Nate Porteous) to threaten Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in their ongoing feud for Butlers Farm. While he was still wearing a balaclava and remained unidentifiable, Moira's stepson (Kyle Winchester) grabbed a pitchfork and stabbed Dylan in the leg. With fans now aware that it was indeed Dylan behind the crime and injured as a result, many are concerned he will drag April into a life of illegal activities, as one penned: "I expect April to start acting up now that Dylan is back."

A second viewer questioned April's seemingly forgotten friendship. After her chat with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) about her son Arthur (Alfie Clarke), they noted that her friendship with Dylan could result from April and Arthur's distance and questioned: "Why do they keep hinting at tension between Arthur and April?"
The conversation began after Laurel noticed Arthur's clothes were missing from the washing line. A third remarked, "April's friend is back, then stealing Arthur's bottoms."
While a fourth remained unimpressed by his return and commented: "Here comes Dylan the wee s**** bag thug Threatening a kid wee s***." (sic)
Viewers were quick to discover that Dylan had, in fact, lied to April during their catch-up about their new lives away from the streets.
As she questioned his rehab stay, the youngster claimed: "It took some work, but I'm clean.
"I managed to turn my life around, I got a place in Hutton, sharing it with a mate, and managed to get a job as well. The point is I'm not using anymore."
However, this was proven to be a lie as the final moments of Emmerdale showed Dylan living in a derelict room and rolling up his tracksuit to reveal the stab wound from the pitchfork while wincing in pain.
Their reunion could be the starting point of April's downfall, just as she's begun to reintergrate back into the village after being homeless and experiencing a traumatic stillbirth while living in the streets.
This would be devastating for the youngster who recently landed an internship as an events organiser and is willing to get her life back on track and prove her father, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), wrong.
