Deal or No Deal returned to television screens for a fresh episode on Monday (October 27) evening, though viewers were left "fed up" within moments of the programme starting.
Initially launching in 2005, the show was revived by ITV in 2023 with You Bet presenter Stephen Mulhern taking over the role previously held by Noel Edmonds.
During tonight's instalment, Jamie became the first participant attempting his fortune with the 22 red boxes and faced off against the notorious Banker for the opportunity to secure a life-altering cash sum.
When questioned about his plans if he won big, the model and footballer, who was born deaf, revealed he'd like to use the winnings to help his mum with purchasing a vehicle, embark on travels and support the deaf community in Africa.
Things started off well for Jamie as he managed to get rid of the 50p and the 1p with his first two boxes, reports Wales Online.
Nevertheless, his game rapidly deteriorated after revealing a box containing £75,000. Jamie subsequently received a proposal from The Banker worth £675 but turned it down.
The participant, who captained England's deaf football squad, removed several more blue boxes in the following round before refusing another proposal from The Banker, this time valued at £1,660.
But it still wasn't looking good for the footie star after losing £50,000 and £25,000. He then declined the bankers offer for £2,390.
The fourth round commenced more promisingly, with Jamie eliminating the £1 box and the £250 box. The Banker subsequently offered Jamie £5,145, which he turned down, before removing the £750 box.
Regrettably, towards the conclusion, Jamie discovered the £100,000 box, signalling he wouldn't be departing with the top prize today.
The Banker then presented Jamie with £2,475, but Jamie refused, choosing instead to attempt winning £10,000.
With only £10,000 and £5 remaining in contention, he decided against risking everything and accepted the banker's proposal of £4,150. Sadly for Jamie, his box held the £10,000.
However, viewers watching at home have been left unimpressed as they insisted that there was too much talking before Jamie opened his boxes.
One viewer posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "New #DealOrNoDeal Been on 2 minutes and I'm already fed up with the inane chatter."
Another remarked: "Just open the bloody boxes without the inane jibber jabber #DealOrNoDeal." A third observed: "That's the 4 o'clock slot ruined #DealOrNoDeal."
Nevertheless, other enthusiasts were delighted to witness the programme's return to television, as one declared: "Babe shut up my show is on #DealOrNoDeal.
"Let's go! #DealOrNoDeal," another penned enthusiastically, whilst one more contributed: "We are back! #DealOrNoDeal."
Deal Or No Deal airs on weekdays from 4pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
