Floors will be shiny and streak-free if you clean them with 1 unexpected product

Cleaning the floors isn't everyone's favourite household task, but it's a very important one. Footprints, spillages, dirt and dust can all contribute to a messy floor, and it's glaringly obvious whenever you enter a room.

However, there's nothing worse than spending time mopping the floors, only to find streaks of water and soap residue have been left behind. If you're sick of this happening, the solution is simple - all you need to do is change the way you're cleaning. And according to one expert on TikTok, there's one product that makes a huge difference.

Klean Krish, who is a house cleaner with more than 147k followers on TikTok, recently made a video sharing how he achieves that streak-free shine whilst mopping tiled floors.

According to the pro, you should step away from the floor cleaner and use a much better product instead - window cleaner.

You'll also want a microfibre mop or cloth, as Krish says this combo is 'perfect' for shiny tiles.

How to clean your floors

For the most gleaming floor tiles that never have any streaks, you'll first want to spray your floors with a window cleaning spray. These often have white vinegar in them, which is an excellent tool for cleaning smears off glass and mirrors - and floors too.

Then, use your mop to buff the cleaning solution in side-to-side motions. Krish said: "You'll be left with no streak marks, and it'll be really shiny.

"Just make sure you're not spraying too much of the window cleaner, as this will leave an excess residue."

However, it's not just mirrors and floors that can benefit from being cleaned with window cleaner. According to the experts at Merry Maids, it can also serve as an all-purpose bathroom cleaner too.

They said: "Spray glass cleaner into the toilet bowl, allow to sit for about five minutes, and scrub as usual to remove stains. For bathtubs, showers, and vanity countertops, spritz cleaner onto the surface, wipe down with a microfiber cloth or sponge, and rinse with plain water."
