Harry Potter fans will be pleased to know that the brand new TV series for the wizarding-based tales is now in production. It comes as the stars, including young actor Dominic McLaughin as Harry Potter, were spotted filming at London Zoo.
From HBO, the upcoming series will adapt JK Rowling's iconic novels for a new generation. The 11-year-old actor was seen complete in his Hogwarts wizarding robes, including iconic round spectacles and infamous forehead scar, as he joined other cast members while filming on location. He was joined by the stars who make up the fictional Dursley family, as they appeared to be re-creating the well-known zoo scene from the books, where Harry talks to the snake. The new Dursley family consists of Daniel Rigby portraying the role of blustering Uncle Vernon, while Bel Powley transforms into Aunt Petunia and Amos Kitson takes on the role of Harry's cousin, Dudley Dursley.
Elsewhere in the cast, joining Dominic as Harry will be Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton will take on the role of Hermione Granger - completing the magical trio of friends.
The latest cast announced also includes Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander. Johnny Flynn will play the villainous Lucius Malfoy, replacing Jason Isaacs in his iconic movie role.
Making up the faculty members at Hogwarts will be John Lithgow as Professor Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall, Nick Frost as groundskeeper Hagrid and Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape. Luke Thallon will also join the cast as Quirrell and Paul Whitehouse will appear as Filch.

According to reports, HBO's adaptation will be filmed in a £1billion mini town, which is said to include new roads, multi-storey car parks and vast hangars to house the sets. A school and medical centre are also reportedly included in the set.
Excitement has been building about the new series since it was announced in 2023, however the show is only due to start in 2027 and will apparently take ten years to complete.
The new show will be more "book-driven", with each series telling the story of one year at the magical school, Hogwarts. HBO said: "Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally."
