Coronation Street's Aadi Alahan, played by Adam Hussain, is set to come clean to Lauren Bolton, his dad Dev and Bernie Winter following a drug-related incident that left his would-be girlfriend in hospital.
In scenes due to air this week, Aadi is seen drinking heavily in Victoria Gardens while ignoring a string of messages from a distressed Lauren. The Weatherfield teen has been avoiding her since the disastrous party he hosted at Dev's house spiralled out of control.
Lauren (Cait Fitton) eventually finds Aadi at home, and he feels so guilty he admits the truth about what happened on the night of the party even though it might cause her to pull away from their budding romance. When Dev and Bernie come back later, Aadi makes the decision to confess everything to them as well.
The shindig, organised by Aadi to improve his image and shed his 'nice guy' persona, saw Brody Michaelis bring LSD to the party. Though Aadi kicked him out and tried to get ride of the drugs from the house, he left the cup with the acid unattended, and Lauren, unaware of what it was, downed it.

Lauren was later found hallucinating about her abuser Joel Deering (Calum Lill) and in a confused state. After collapsing and being taken to hospital, doctors confirmed she was suffering symptoms consistent with a head injury and substance use.
Eve though Aadi didn't give the drug to Lauren, the incident has weighed heavily on him. Viewers have seen his behaviour change in recent episodes, culminating in the moment he decides to come clean.
Despite being a compelling storyline it has drawn criticism from some viewers, with many describing the party episode as confusing and rushed. Some questioned how the drug was handled in the script, while others raised concerns over how quickly Lauren's trauma has been addressed.
Now, in upcoming scenes, Aadi's honesty is set to cause further consequences, both within his family and the Cobbles. Dev, who recently returned from a trip to India, trusted his son to behave and is unlikely to take the news well.
Earlier this year, Adam revealed on Instagram that he would the ITV soap. He wrote: "I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.
"Over the 5 years I've spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!"
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV1 and ITVX.
