Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce engaged as they share loved-up snaps

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged after two years of dating one another! The pop legend shared their happy news in a joint social media post.

"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," they said, alongside a dynamite stick emoji. Swift, who has 280 million Instagram followers, also posted a heart on her Instagram story with her song So High School from the anthology version of the album The Tortured Poets Department, which is said to have been written about her fiancé, playing in the background.

In one snap, Taylor was seen crying as she hugged her now fiancée. Travis got down on one knee, surrounded by stunning flowers in a garden.

Looking emotional, another snap saw the couple posing for the camera, with Travis resting his arms around Taylor's waist while she cradled his face as they gazed lovingly at one another.Her engagement ring featured one large diamond, with the gold band resting on her finger as it glistened under the sun.

Shortly after Travis popped the question, the pair kicked back and as they relaxed on a bench underneath a sprawling floral gazebo, with Taylor resting her head on her fiancée's shoulders, while Travis rested his head on Taylor's. According to TMZ, Travis helped design the ring. The outlet reports that it has learned that the engagement ring is an Old Mine Brilliant Cut by designer Kindred Lubeck, adding that sources say the jewellery was worked on by Travis on the design.

Travis' teammate, Patrick Mahomes, shared the news on his Instagram story alongside three love heart emojis. Meanwhile, Brittany Mahomes also shared the news, writing: "Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love. Just so happy for these two." The news comes just weeks afterfans speculated that the couple had become engaged.

Fans spotted a hidden detail on a phone screen last month, leading them to believe the couple had become engaged in secret and were waiting for the right time to announce the news. On July 24, Taylor shared snaps of herself and Travis, but his phone lockscreen showed a picture of himself and Taylor posing alongside one another, smiling from ear to ear.

But it was Travis' lockscreen that had fans talking. The picture on display was the couple, with Taylor holding her hands up, her fingers spread out, and what appeared to be a ring on her finger. One fan said: "Travis's lockscreen is she pointing at her hand like she is… Engaged ??????"

A second added: "Not to be that person but in his lock screen is she holding up her hand with a ring on her finger. is it an engagement photo?" Engagement rumours had also circulated in June. The couple attended the marriage of Cole Kmet and Emily Jarosz but the invitation had been sent to "Taylor and Travis Kelce".

However, it is not known when or where the couple got engaged. The happy news was released during a Kansas City Chiefs media availability, though after head coach Andy Reid had departed. That left Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna to field questions about his teammate's engagement.

"Man, it's incredible. I was caught off guard, but you know, great for them," Danna said, a few minutes after the news raced across social media. "But you know, great for them. That’s a blessing. Any time you find that type of joy, blessing, love — that's a beautiful thing."

Like many of the Chiefs, Danna has hung out with Swift and Kelce at a New Year's party and after most of their home games. "l'll think of a good little engagement gift," Danna said. "Maybe some Pop-Tarts back to her. It won't be homemade."

Travis and Taylor's love story began back in July 2023, when Travis made his way to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City—not for a Chiefs match-up, but rather to be amidst the buzz of Taylor's iconic Eras Tour. On his podcast New Heights, which he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, he later dished out the details about his real motives for attending the gig.

The American footballer had planned to pass Taylor his phone number via a friendship bracelet, only to find out she avoids talking pre and post-concerts to preserve her vocal cords. Fortunately, he got a second shot at winning her over when Taylor heard of his bold gesture.

The following September, Travis was quizzed about his relationship with Taylor. Dodging the personal talk during an NFL + interview, he stated: "I'm not gonna talk about my personal life," as Andrew Siciliano probed for details. However, the buzz only intensified when Taylor showed up to cheer on Travis at his 24 September game, accompanied by none other than his mum, Donna Kelce, causing a stir among media and fans.

Come November, the pair's bond was as evident as ever, particularly when Travis jetted off to Buenos Aires for Taylor's 11 November Eras Tour performance. Taylor's fans couldn't help but swoon when she tweaked the lyrics in "Karma" to nod directly to her beau's career: "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me."

A few weeks down the line, Travis candidly expressed his admiration for Taylor during an intimate chat with The Wall Street Journal: "Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f*cking mind-blowing. I'm learning every day." Taylor also dished the dirt on their romance as she was crowned Time's Person of the Year at the end of 2023.

In a candid interview with the mag, Taylor dished about her epic tour, her tireless dedication to her craft, and squashed any rumours about when she and beau Travis became an item. She set the record straight that by September, when she showed up at his game, they were already tight.

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," Taylor revealed. "We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I'm grateful for because we got to get to know each other."

The celebrated singer also said: "By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."

Fast forward to April 2024, and the lovebirds were seen soaking up the Coachella vibes, with Travis affectionately wrapping his arms around Taylor as they enjoyed some festival fun. The same month, Taylor released The Tortured Poets Department, an album that addressed her past relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn and her fling with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

But the double album also included a couple of tracks inspired by her budding romance with Travis. When asked by People about his favourite song from the record, Travis confessed "I might be a little biased to 'So High School" - confirming the bop was dedicated to him.

June 2024 saw a selfie of Taylor, Kelce, Prince William and his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, posted from her London gig, marking his first official appearance on her Instagram feed. It was a significant month for the pair as Travis also made his Eras Tour debut at her Wembley Stadium concert, sporting a top hat and tails for a guest appearance on stage with Taylor

In July 2024, on his podcast, Travis expressed his excitement about his unexpected debut during Taylor's performance, stating, "It was such a fun, playful part of the show and the perfect time for me to go up there, just be a ham, and have some fun."

There romance reached another milestone in August when Taylor made her podcast debut and announced details of her twelfth studio album on Travis' New Heights podcast.

Ahead of the full podcast airing, Taylor appeared in a clip with her NFL star boyfriend and his brother Jason Kelce, a former NFL player, on their New Heights podcast, where she opened a briefcase with "TS" printed on it, which contained the album but with its cover blurred out.

In the clip, she told the brothers: "So I wanted to show you something, this is my brand new album, The Life Of A Showgirl." The brothers screamed and Travis shouted: "TS 12".
