A “dazzling” action blockbuster from Christopher Nolan is about to air on BBC One, meaning it will also be available to stream for free for a limited time on BBC iPlayer.
The auteur director is best known for his mind-boggling sci-fi action films Inception and Interstellar as well as bringing Batman to the big screen in The Dark Knight trilogy.
Still one of Hollywood’s most profitable filmmakers, he even managed to release a jaw-dropping cinematic thriller to the big screen during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tenet was the fifth-grossing film of 2020 despite restrictions at the time, and has since become even more popular thanks to a growing cult following.
While it’s not one of his best reviewed films, currently sitting at 70 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s still perfect Friday night viewing when it airs tonight at 10:40pm.

The critical consensus for the film describes it as “a visually dazzling puzzle for film lovers to unlock, Tenet serves up all the cerebral spectacle audiences expect from a Christopher Nolan production.”
And one critics’ review reads: “It is easy to sit back and revel in the wonder of the big-screen experience, and to immediately want to see the film again. And again.”
Plenty of fans have given Tenet five-star Google reviews, too, including this movie buff who raved: “Mind bending awesome movie. Designed for multiple viewings.
“A must watch for sci-fi and time travel movie enthusiasts. Production value high. Deserves 5 stars.”
More have described the film as endlessly rewatchable. One viewer said: “This movie is meant to be watched more than one time and seems to get better with each watch.
“To briefly sum it up without spoilers, this movie is arguably (if not the most) the most mind bending sci-fi film ever.
“Every scene in the movie plays significance and contain subtle details that hint at the bigger picture.”
“There aren't many times when I watch a movie and then have it on my mind for several days afterwards,” another joined the discussion.
“This is definitely a film you have to watch twice. It really is mind blowing.”
And a final fan declared on X: “TENET gets better every time you rewatch it, the chaos starts making sense, and the craft hits harder.”
Tenet airs Friday, 15th August at 10:40pm on BBC One and will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
