Two middle-aged men allegedly sexually assaulted two minor girls in Sikander Gate area under Hapur City Kotwali police station's jurisdiction on Friday. The accused reportedly targeted girls aged 6 and 8 while they were playing near a water tank.
An eyewitness secretly recorded the incident and alerted others about the abuse. Subsequently, an enraged crowd physically assaulted both suspects before handing them over to police.
Police are currently investigating the matter. Both accused are from Kotla Mewatiyaan area, as per reports.

According to witness accounts, the men lured the young girls under false pretences before molesting them. The suspects allegedly attempted to inappropriately touch the children against their will. Bystanders immediately intervened upon noticing the assault, raising an alarm that attracted a large gathering.
Local residents detained both suspects, believed to be aged between 45-50 years, and subjected them to physical retaliation before police arrived at scene. Officers from City Kotwali police station responded to the alert and took the men into formal custody after rescuing them from the agitated mob.
Station House Officer Munish Pratap Singh confirmed the arrests were made based on a complaint filed by the victims' family. Authorities have registered a formal case and initiated legal proceedings.
