Indore (Madhya Pradesh): With the beginning of the auspicious Shravan month, a large number of Kanwar pilgrims have begun their trek to sacred Shiva shrines such as Ujjain and Omkareshwar. To ensure the safety and comfort of these devotees, the Indore district administration has made special arrangements as per the directions of chief minister Dr Mohan Yadav.
The district administration, with support from various sections of society, has set up dedicated facilities for Kanwar pilgrims at Rajoda (Sanwer Road) and Baigram (Khandwa Road, Mhow area). These include shelters, food service and resting areas.
Sindhi Community Gears Up for 40-Day Chaliha Festival Honoring Lord Jhulelal from July 16On the Indore-Ujjain Mahakaleshwar route, waterproof domes have been set up at Rajoda village in front of the Rama Phosphate factory. Similarly, on the Indore-Omkareshwar route, facilities have been provided at Baigram. These camps offer sleeping arrangements, meals, tea, snacks and basic medical aid. The food services will remain active daily from 8 AM to 10 PM.
Special food for fasting pilgrims
At these camps, devotees are being served tea, roti, poori, sabzi, dal, rice and khichdi. For those who are fasting, there is samo (barnyard millet) khichdi, bananas, cucumbers and sabudana khichdi so that they can complete their spiritual journey without any difficulty.
