Whether Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, one of the most beloved on-screen couples of the new generation of Bollywood, will return to the screen again is a question every fan has been searching for for years. After hits like "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" and "Badrinath Ki Dulhania," audiences have been waiting for the third installment of the series, "Dulhania 3," for a long time. Now, director Shashank Khaitan has given a major update on this matter.

Shashank Khaitan's Big Update
In a recent interview with "Bollywood Bubble," Shashank Khaitan said, "We all want 'Dulhania 3' to happen. Whether it's me, Alia Bhatt, or Varun—everyone is involved in this franchise. But we haven't found the right story yet that will satisfy us and the audience." He clarified that the team is constantly discussing ideas, but no concrete plans have been finalized yet. Shashank also said that given the overwhelming love the Dulhania series has received, he doesn't want to disappoint audiences by rushing into a film.
"It's not just the film, but the story that matters."
According to the director, a sequel to any successful franchise should only be made if it has a strong and engaging story to tell. He says that "Dulhania 3" will only be made if the team feels that the story is more impactful and entertaining than the previous two installments.
Varun and Shashank's New Film
Varun Dhawan and Shashank Khaitan are currently gearing up for their new film, "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari," which releases on October 2nd. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor opposite Varun. Sanya Malhotra, Manish Paul, Akshay Oberoi, and Rohit Saraf also star in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Karan Johar.

The Journey of the Dulhania Franchise
The pair of Alia and Varun, who first appeared together in 2012's "Student of the Year," won over audiences with "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" in 2014. Its light-hearted romantic comedy and strong chemistry made the film a hit. Subsequently, "Badrinath Ki Dulhania," released in 2017, also achieved box office success, and the pair once again became a favorite. Since then, fans have been clamoring for a third installment.
