There are less than two weeks to go of the summer 2025 transfer window and Chelseastill have a lot of work to do. In fact, there is a player needing a move for every remaining day.
If all goes to plan then Christopher Nkunkuwill leave and Xavi Simonswill be his effective replacement, killing two birds with one stone. Things for Nkunku have dragged on with both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in the mix to sign him.
UEFA squad restrictions mean Chelsea are waiting for sales before proceeding with Simons, who continues to play for Leipzig. Ideally, two permanent deals will be done here to draw a line under Nkunku's disappointing stay in England.

Along with Nkunku, Chelsea are open to offers for Nicolas Jackson and haven't included him in their training group at Cobham ahead of travelling to West Ham on Friday night. The closer to the September 1 deadline it gets, the less chance there is of Chelsea getting the minimum of £70million that they value Jackson at.
Should both Nkunku and Jackson go then Chelsea will be extremely confident of landingAlejandro Garnacho as well as Simons. There are still price discrepancies for both to be gotten over but Chelsea believe they hold significant power in the situation.
Garnacho is unwanted at Manchester United, who have been unable to shift their set of exiled players all summer. He is pushing to join Chelsea but it's one that may go down to the wireas Chelsea aim to use their position of strength to get a cut-price bargain.
All four of these players may well find themselves frustrated as the week draws on and matches approach that they will not be featuring in. Chelsea are at the London Stadium on Friday so have very little time to act decisively prior to that.
They then welcome Fulham two days before the deadline. With an international break to follow, they will be keen to integrate new players in during that period without stressing over appearances in the first three fixtures.
The same is not so true of others. The list of players who have absolutely no future at Stamford Bridge is still extensive withRaheem Sterling, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, David Datro Fofana, and Renato Veiga all in limbo.
Veiga is believed to be closing in on a sale having been set for Atletico Madrid earlier in the summer. He will not enter Enzo Maresca's plans despite being a left-footed centre-back, which they have lost with Levi Colwill's injury and the wait for Benoit Badiashile to return from his own layoff.
As for Sterling and Chilwell, they are much harder to move on due to their age, high wages, and time since last being anywhere near the top of their game. Chelsea have been adamant that only permanent exits would be allowed this window but may have to reconsider that.
Chukwuemeka is also in no-mans land as Borussia Dortmund attempt to find a breakthrough over signing him again. Fofana should, in theory, be easier to cash in on due to being signed for just £10million.
What this leaves is a sizeable group that does not include academy players yet to secure loans, or Tyrique George, who will find himself even further down the pecking order once Garnacho and Simons take priority. Unfortunately for this week, the chances of the real first-team adjacent names getting their desires is slim.
Chelsea are looking more towards Veiga, Fofana, and Chukwuemeka before the high-profile deals roll around after West Ham for completion. Bayern and Leipzig also play each other this weekend, which promises to set some Nkunku and Simons wheels in motion.
On the SW6 side, it might be another few days before the transfers they really want to see start to move in the right direction again.
