Arsenal can now complete £210m statement transfers as triple announcement prepared

Arsenal's summer transfer window can finally kick into life with a triple announcement now set to arrive. The Gunners are yet to confirm any additions ahead of the 2025/26 season but Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta have still been busy.

football.london reported ahead of the current trading period opening that the Gunners wanted a new striker, wide forward, back-up goalkeeper and defender. Those four transfer aims were in addition to the expected arrival of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.

Official confirmation of his switch can now go ahead with the start of July also seeing a new financial year begin. Real wanted the £55 million (€65m) deal, which will be paid across instalments, ratified this month so that the funds can go onto their now current financial books.

Following that, fellow Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga will also be joining after the £5m release clause in his Chelsea contract was activated. The need for a central midfield signing alongside Zubimendi was not a major priority until it became clear that Thomas Partey would not be signing a new contract.

Links to Christian Norgaard then arrived and a deal for the Brentford captain was swiftly wrapped up with just over £10m to be paid up front. Talks with Valencia for Cristhian Mosquera are also ongoing and a second bid from north London is expected to be forthcoming.

That is three signings agreed that can be announced at any moment and a fourth in the works.Once those are made official, attention can turn onto the arguably bigger signings with a striker and wide forward targeted.

Real Madrid star Rodrygo seems to be the priority option for the latter after Nico Williams chose to join Barcelona. With his role under Xabi Alonso continuing to be unclear, a departure for the Brazil international is looking increasingly likely.

Even though Real Madrid are not actively determined to keep him, they want £77 million (€90m) to sanction an exit. That is a sizeable fee, but Arsenal do have a bit of breathing room now that July, and thus a new financial year, has arrived.

In terms of alternatives, talks have been held for AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Ademola Lookman of Atalanta. Further forward, discussions with Viktor Gyokeres andBenjamin Sesko have been held and it is currently the latter appearing as the favoured signing.

The asking prices set by Sporting CP and RB Leipzig, respectively, are lofty though with their demands changing. For Gyokeres, the Portuguese champions now want £67m (€80m) as opposed to the apparent £59m (€70m) gentlemen's agreement.

On Sesko, CaughtOffsideare claiming that a compromise has been met between the two parties at £64.3m (€75m).

A player available at a similar price is Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze with the Gunners placing him high up on their shortlistand his potential arrival not impacting a striker or winger signing, as per The Athletic.

The attacking midfielder has a £68m release clause in his contract but it is claimed that Arsenal would look to pay less than that. If Sesko, Eze and Rodrygo all come in, it is likely that in excess of £200m will be spent.

Those three marquee signings alongside Mosquera, Norgaard, Kepa and Zubimendi would put the Gunners in an excellent position to compete for and hopefully win silverware in the new season.
